As an extension of our efforts, we are proud to be part of the American Institute of Architect's Continuing Education program. Our AIA Continuing Education Course qualifies for both Sustainable Design (SD) and Health, Safety and Welfare (HSW) credits.
Course Description
During the cold winter months, it is nearly impossible to ignore the rising costs of electrical bills. Designers and homeowners should be aware of other alternatives besides convection based heating systems, such as radiant heating. It's a unique heating system that evenly heats from ceiling to floor using radiant heating panels. This method reduces electrical costs significantly, increases efficiency, and increases comfortableness by preventing more heat from escaping a room.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this course you should be able to:
- Explain the difference between convection and radiant heating systems
- Describe how heat loss affects human comfort and dispel the myth that heating with electricity is expensive
- Recognize how radiant heating technology applies to daily functions
- Incorporate electrical radiant heating technology into your design
- List several successful case studies of incorporating electrical radiant heating technology into projects
- Acquire LEED TM points for Existing Buildings and New Construction
