Earth Thermal Storage System (ETS)
Creating one of the most comfortable and economical heating systems
available, SmartRooms Earth Thermal Storage System
is installed in soil or sand under a concrete slab building foundation.
(Sometimes called slab heating.) The result is that the ground
underneath becomes an efficient, large mass of stored thermal energy.
It's the same principle as the earth's core.
The system is charged (energized) when less expensive off-peak
electric rates are in effect. The stored energy is only released
when the area above it becomes cool. Otherwise the radiant heat
remains where it is so there is no wasted energy.
The system is protected from mechanical harm, corrosive chemicals, and moisture. Even the most hazardous areas can be safely and economically heated.
Control for the SmartRooms Earth Thermal Storage System can range
from a basic pre-wired system of contacts, control relays, and
pilot lights, up to our SmartRooms Comfort Controller. The system
can then be zone-controlled and automatically timed for use during
low peak periods, when necessary, for even greater economy.
The combination of this technology and use of off-peak electrical rates results in tremendous operating savings.
As with all SmartRooms products, installation is fast and easy,
and the Earth Thermal Storage System also provides gentle, low-temperature
warmth with no hot spots or drafts. The system is clean, creating
no smoke or soot. And it doesn't take up valuable floor space.
